The nearby Richey Theater and the New Port Richey Library regularly offer special events. A wide variety of restaurants are also within easy reach. The best secret about downtown is the beautiful Sims Park and the river walk along the Pithlachascotee River. The city of New Port Richey loves to hold music and arts and craft fairs here several times a year, including a spectacular Christmas event with a lighted night parade. For sports enthusiasts, there is golfing, marinas, and beach parks within a 15 minute drive. For gamers there's Tampa Bay Downs horse racing, and also the dog track in the Gandy area of St. Pete. Don't forget the slots at Hard Rock Casino, and even closer is the Sun Cruise Casino gaming ship which is a five minute ride (Bingo is right at your park!)
